AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV

/

The month August is always special to each Indian. It’s the month we celebrate our Independence Day. On August 15,1947,India got it’s freedom ending an almost 200 year British rule.

India’s Independence Day is significant as it stands as a reminder of the sacrifices that many freedom fighters made to get azadi from a foreign ruler.

As we all know some of the great freedom fighters who helped in India’s freedom struggle include Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Ballav Bhai Patel, Bhagat Singh, Chandra Shekhar Azad , Subhas Chandra Bose and many more.

Last year the government of India has taken the initiative to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
It is named as “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”.

The Prime Minister of our country inaugurated this Mahotsav by flagging off Dandi March from Sabarmati Ashram Ahmedabad(which I visited in last April) on 12th March 2021.The celebration started 75 weeks before our 75th anniversary of independence and will end on 15 August 2023.

The theme focusses on collective resolve and determination to shape the destiny of our motherland.

Why not we all start our journey to 2047 to celebrate the 100 years in a positive way, helping each other for the betterment of our motherland ?
