Marriage also called matrimony,is a socially or ritually recognised union between spouses that establishes rights and obligations between those spouses..It is the process by which two people make their relationship public, official and permanent.It is the joining of two people in a bond that lasts in till death.

Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures,ethnic groups and social classes.India being a vast country here wedding vary regionally.We have Odia,Bengali,Punjabi,Marathi south Indian marriages.Here we see marriage as a sacred duty that entails both religious and social obligations.Parents are happy and satisfied if the wedding of their offspring are performed in right age.

Arranged marriages were normal in society from the historical Vedic eras and it is still viewed in maximum families.Here parents choose the boy or girl.They take an important role.Arranged marriages account for an overwhelming majority of marriages in India.Since some years technology has also impacted arranged marriages.Websites and apps being created for acting as the electronic match maker.Many families upload the profile of their children to such websites.

An Indian wedding is generally a two or three days affair with different ceremonies.But before some days of the wedding an engagement ceremony is a must.Elders of both the party hold a ritual for a promise.In modern times a ring ceremony has been added to it.

The wedding tradition in India is an impressive manifestation of the rich cultural heritage of the country.The decoration of an wedding, the sight of the mandap and the sound of beating the drum and the blowing of the conch,the fire the flowers is insanely beautiful.
